National School Volleyball Championships Begin in Lagos

The 2nd National School Volleyball Championships kicked off today at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, organized by the Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF) in collaboration with the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) and the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC). This annual competition, lasting four days, aims to develop volleyball within the school system and identify outstanding athletes who will represent Nigeria at the International School Sport Federation (ISF) World School Volleyball Championship scheduled for July 1-10 in China.

Teams from Lagos, Osun, River Bayelsa, Adamawa, Ogun, Taraba, and Bauchi states are competing. NSSF President Olabisi Joseph expressed delight at the growing interest in volleyball among schools nationwide, urging participants to be worthy ambassadors for their schools.

She praised the NVBF for its technical support, highlighting the abundance of talent in Nigeria's school system and the healthy rivalry it fosters among students.
