Bayelsa, Bauchi Win at NSSF Volleyball Championship

The National School Sports Federation (NSSF) volleyball championship concluded on Friday at the National Institute for Sports inside the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. Bayelsa State won the girls' title in a closely contested final against Lagos, winning the decisive set 15-12 after both teams exchanged sets.

In the boys' final, Bauchi State triumphed over the host team, Lagos, clinching the title by winning the final set 15-9 after dominating the second set 25-12. The tournament featured 28 teams, including 10 boys' and eight girls' teams from various states such as Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, and Adamawa.

The event was organized by the Nigeria School Sports Federation in partnership with the Nigeria Volleyball Federation and supported by the Lagos State Sports Commission, highlighting grassroots development and youth participation in sports. Selected players from the tournament are expected to represent Nigeria at the International School Sports Federation World School Volleyball Championship scheduled for July 1-10 in China.
