NOC Supports NSSF After Successful Volleyball Championship

The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) praised the Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF) for its successful organization of the 2nd National School Volleyball Championship, which took place at the National Institute for Sports inside the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. The tournament brought together 28 teams, comprising 10 boys' and 8 girls' squads from various states including Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Adamawa, Bauchi, and Bayelsa.

NOC President Engr Habu Gumel attended as a special guest and emphasized the importance of the championship in showcasing youth energy and competitive spirit, which are vital for grassroots sports development. Bayelsa and Bauchi states emerged as champions, while Adamawa and Oyo secured bronze medals in the boys' and girls' categories, respectively.

NSSF President Olabisi Joseph expressed satisfaction with the tournament's success and confirmed plans to collaborate with NVBF to identify top talents for representation at the 2026 International School Sport Federation World School Volleyball Championship in China.
