Three Herders Killed in Plateau State Attack

On July 19, 2026, around 2:30 PM, three Fulani herders were killed, and two others were injured in an ambush while grazing cattle in Tanjol, Jol Ward, Riyom Local Government Area, Plateau State. The deceased were identified as Abdurrazak Abdullahi (22), Husaini Idri (23), and Yusuf Tukur (19).

The incident was confirmed by youth leader Mahanga Abdullahi and Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo, the state chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), who condemned the attack as unprovoked and expressed profound sorrow over the tragic killings. MACBAN accused members of the Berom ethnic group of carrying out the attack.
