Gunmen Kill Two in Plateau State Community Attacks

On Tuesday night, gunmen attacked Berom communities in Plateau State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to one. The attacks were reported in Gwa-Wereng Rim, Kyeng Village in Bachi District, Dorong, and Jol Village.

The Berom Youth Moulders-Association confirmed the fatalities, identifying the deceased as Bulus Mwagwong, known as Dikko, and 47-year-old Stephen Dachollom Kaze. The attacks began around 8:30 p.m. at Kyeng Village, where Kaze was killed, followed by an assault at Gwa-Wereng Rim around 9:30 p.m., where Mwagwong was shot.

The attackers also set houses ablaze in Dorong, prompting residents to flee. The association's National President, Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, condemned the violence and called for enhanced security measures.

They urged security agencies to arrest those responsible and provide assistance to affected families. The Plateau State Police Command's spokesperson was unavailable for comment.
