18 Farmers Killed in Plateau State Night Attack

On Sunday night, around 11:30 PM, an attack in Plateau State resulted in the deaths of 18 farmers and injuries to others. The incident took place in Gwand Bokko Local Government Area, where the victims were ambushed while returning home from a traditional council meeting.

Christoph Luka Bokko, a youth leader, confirmed the incident, stating that gunmen attacked the community, shooting at least 20 people. Luka further explained that he received a call around midnight regarding the attack and promptly informed security personnel stationed in Bokko.

He described the attack as unprovoked and urged security forces to take decisive action to prevent the situation from escalating. As of the report, no security agency had commented on the situation, and inquiries to the Plateau State Police Command went unanswered.
