Bandit Attack in Zamfara Kills Three, Injures Many

On March 28, 2026, at approximately 10:30 PM, armed bandits invaded Dangoro Village in Nahuch District, Zamfara State, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to several others, including a nine-month pregnant woman. The assailants, armed with AK-47 rifles, shot sporadically and set multiple houses and grain silos ablaze, forcing residents to flee for safety.

The Zamfara State Police Command, through spokesperson DSP Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the incident, stating that a joint police team and vigilante members were swiftly mobilized to the scene. They engaged the bandits in a gun duel, successfully repelling the attack.

The attack resulted in the burning of several houses and silos containing food grains and livestock. Five individuals sustained gunshot injuries, while four others suffered varying degrees of burn injuries.

The injured were evacuated to a federal medical center in Gusau for treatment. CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello assured residents of the police's commitment to tracking down the perpetrators and restoring calm in the area.
