Bandits Kill 21 in Zamfara Village Attack

On Friday around 9 PM, armed bandits attacked Bunkasau Village in the Zarummai Ward of Bukkuyum Local Government Area, Zamfara State, resulting in the deaths of 21 individuals. Approximately 80 assailants arrived on motorcycles, opened fire on residents, and abducted several people, primarily women, while also stealing livestock.

Local residents, who requested anonymity, informed Blueprint via telephone about the incident, indicating that search efforts for missing persons were underway and funeral arrangements for the deceased were being organized. In response to the attack, the Zamfara State Government has deployed security personnel to the area to restore peace and has called on the federal government for assistance.

DSP Yazid Abubakar, the public relations officer of the police, confirmed the incident, noting that the number of deaths was unspecified and that adequate personnel had been deployed to the area to restore normalcy. The community has been urged to cooperate with the police by providing accurate information regarding the movement of bandits.
