Atiku's Aide Critiques Tinubu's ₦3.3 Trillion Fund

Phrank Shaibu, the special assistant to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has publicly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration regarding the recent announcement of a ₦3.3 trillion electricity intervention fund. Shaibu described this fund as a "panic button," suggesting that it is a desperate measure in response to growing public discontent and opposition activities as the country approaches the 2027 elections.

He noted that the initiative was first introduced in 2024 during the EndSARS protests, indicating a pattern of the government reacting to public pressure. Shaibu emphasized that the timing of this intervention signals distress within the administration and is designed to distract from ongoing issues rather than provide a genuine solution.

He asserted that the ₦3.3 trillion figure is no longer a credible intervention amount, labeling it an "alarm code" for a sinking administration.
