Over 3,800 Children Attend STEM Africa Fest in Lagos

The sixth edition of STEM Africa Fest took place recently at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos, attracting over 3,800 children, parents, teachers, and science enthusiasts. The festival, themed ‘Building Future Innovators,’ aimed to provide practical exposure to artificial intelligence, robotics, and coding.

Participants from more than 119 schools engaged in hands-on activities such as building robots, coding, and conducting science experiments. Co-founder Jadesola Adedeji emphasized the importance of experiential learning beyond traditional classroom settings.

Titi Adewusi, co-founder of 9ijakids and festival organizer, stated the goal was to give children practical experiences with technologies they learn about in school. The event featured various activities, including coding boot camps, drone demonstrations, and a Young Innovators Showcase.

Since its inception in 2021, STEM Africa Fest has reached over 20,000 individuals across Nigeria and other African countries, supported by organizations like 9ijakids and Access Bank.
