Semifinals Set for CBN Senior Tennis Championship

The 47th Central Bank of Nigeria Senior Tennis Championship is progressing towards its semifinals, set to take place at Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on June 20, 2026. In the men's singles, top seed Abua Cannic will compete against Yusuf Abubakar, while defending champion Michael Emmanuel, seeded third, faces unseeded Jimoh Joseph.

In the women's singles, top seed Khadijat Moham will play against Ogunjobi Success, and second seed Emmanuel Essien Bright will engage fifth seed Bassei Itoro. Khadijat advanced by defeating Godwin Favour 2-0 (6-0, 6-1), while Ogunjobi Success overcame Udofia Mari 2-0 (6-2, 6-0).

In the wheelchair category, Ajani Idowu defeated Odunuga Pelumi 2-1 (2-4, 5-4, 10-3) to advance. The men's and women's doubles semifinals will also be decided today, featuring notable pairs such as John David and Jimoh Joseph, as well as Michael Emmanuel and Sylvanu Ajano.
