Emmanuel Micheal Reaches CBN Tennis Semifinals

Defending champion Emmanuel Micheal has advanced to the semifinals of the men's singles category at the 47th edition of the Central Bank of Nigeria Senior Tennis Championship. He is set to face unseeded Jimoh Joseph in the semifinals, which will take place on Friday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

Micheal is seeded third in the tournament, alongside top seed Abua Canic, who will compete against Yusuf Abubakar in the other semifinal. In the women's singles category, top seed Moham Khadijat will face Ogunjobi Success, while second seed Emmanuel Essien will take on fifth seed Bassei Etoro.

Khadijat reached this stage after defeating Godwin Favour in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. In the men's singles wheelchair category, Ajani Idowu edged past Odunuga Pelumi in a close match.

The women's wheelchair singles division will feature defending champion Andrea Usoh and top seed Nwaozuzu Chituru. The semifinals for men's and women's doubles events are also set, with notable pairs including John David and Jimoh Joseph.
