Bayelsa State Dominates 4th Gov Diri Wrestling Classics

At the 4th Governor Douye Diri Wrestling Classics held in Yenagoa on March 29, Bayelsa State showcased a dominant performance in men's freestyle wrestling, securing a total of four medals, including three golds. Erofagha Dideikenei clinched the first gold medal for Bayelsa in the men's 70kg category by defeating Richard Ebigha from River State, while Andrew Ebikem from Dynamit Club in Delta State took the bronze.

Solomon Ulabo added the second gold for Bayelsa in the 82kg category, overcoming Agbonifo Ehichiel from Edo State, with Jame Perekem from Nigeria Customs Service winning bronze. Zikeanh Amen completed the gold medal haul for Bayelsa in the 125kg category, defeating Ater Kehind from Ogun State.

In the Greco-Roman category, Tochukwu Okek from Nigeria Army retained the national title in the 87kg category, with Mathia Okuma from Edo State claiming silver and Samuel Nathaniel from Bayelsa taking bronze. Overall, Bayelsa State emerged as a significant force in the competition.
