Okuro and Onovwiomogbohwo Shine at Wrestling Classics

At the Gov Diri’s Wrestling Classics, Alfred Okuro successfully defended his title in the 67kg division, showcasing a dominant performance to secure the gold medal in a round-robin format. Aken Ebi from Bayelsa State finished with a silver medal, while Hamza Shuaibu from the Nigeria Army and Ipanbu Somina Sim Fubara claimed bronze medals.

In the Greco-Roman category, Harrison Onovwiomogbohwo from Bayelsa State made headlines by clinching the first gold medal in the 97kg category. Tobeckwu Udeh from the Nigeria Army was dethroned as the freestyle champion, with Elebiju Omoniyi defending his title against Martin Aziba and John Cash, who settled for bronze.

David Obodo from Imo State and Victor Ebikebina from Bayelsa State also secured bronze medals. Bayelsa State topped the Greco-Roman medal table with an impressive haul of eight medals, including four gold, one silver, and three bronze, while Delta State finished second with three medals, comprising two gold and one bronze.
