5 months after FG ban, another tanker explodes in Kaduna

Five months after the Federal Government banned petroleum tankers from operating on Nigerian roads, another tanker explosion occurred in Kaduna. The crash, which happened in the Dan Magaji section known for heavy traffic and frequent accidents involving articulated vehicles, involved an LPG tanker that rear-ended an empty fuel tanker, triggering an explosion.

Three people were injured, and all victims were taken to a nearby hospital. Emergency crews cordoned off the area and diverted traffic while working to contain the fire.

This incident has renewed calls for stricter enforcement of tanker safety regulations. Despite the ban on petroleum tankers, accidents involving them persist, with this latest crash attributed to overspeeding.

The Federal Road Safety Corps has launched a full investigation into the cause of the crash.
