Dapo Abiodun Announces November Start for Ogun Deep Sea Port

Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun announced that construction work on the Gateway Deep Sea Port and Ogun State Blue Marine Special Economic Zone, valued at over $7 billion, will commence in November. This announcement followed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DP World MEA FZE in Paris, France, in the presence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for November, with immediate construction thereafter, aiming for substantial completion within two and a half years. Abiodun emphasized the project's potential to unlock Ogun State's maritime and economic capabilities, noting that it had remained unrealized for over three decades.

He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his support and highlighted ongoing federal infrastructure projects that would enhance connectivity to Ogun East. Abiodun also mentioned the region's significant mineral resources, including extensive bitumen deposits and crude oil, which his administration aims to harness for economic development.
