5 Soldiers, 1 Police Officer Killed in Zamfara Ambush

In Zamfara State, 5 soldiers and 1 police officer were killed in an ambush by terrorists during a security operation conducted by Operation Fansan Yamma. The attack occurred in Gidan Wagni as the security forces were heading towards Kekun Waje in Bungudu Local Government Area.

Captain David Adewusi confirmed the incident, stating that the ambush followed a series of successful offensive operations conducted earlier in January 2026. The security forces engaged the terrorists gallantly to prevent harm to nearby communities.
