Five Terrorists Killed in Kebbi State Ambush Response

On a recent operation in Kebbi State, five terrorists were killed following an ambush on a convoy led by Major General Bemgha Koughna, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 8 Division. The attack occurred near Mayama Hill while the convoy was en route to visit frontline troops deployed in the state.

Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, acting as the Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 8 Division, reported that the convoy encountered intense gunfire from armed terrorists. The troops responded with overwhelming firepower, successfully neutralizing five terrorists and repelling the ambush.

Following the counterattack, a thorough sweep of the area was conducted, resulting in the recovery of significant caches of weapons, including two AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and cash amounting to N840,000. The troops remain vigilant in the area to maintain operational dominance and protect civilians from terrorist threats across the northwest region.
