Nigeria Targets Power Export to West Africa, Aims for N1.49 Trillion Revenue by 2026

Nigeria aims to export electricity to 15 West African countries, projecting an annual revenue of N1.49 trillion by June 2026. The country successfully conducted a grid synchronization test with the West African Power Pool, showcasing its technical capabilities.

The Nigerian government plans to establish a permanent grid synchronization by June 2026 and has allocated 600MW for power trade agreements. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission indicates Nigeria offers the lowest electricity tariff in the region.
