65 Nigerians to Return from South Africa on August 26

The Federal Government of Nigeria has confirmed that 65 Nigerian nationals will return from South Africa on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. This announcement was made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via a statement on its X handle.

The returnees, who are being repatriated amid recent anti-foreigner attacks in South Africa, are sponsored by private individuals. They will depart from the Oliver Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg at 3:30 PM local time aboard South African Airways.

The expected arrival time at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos is 8:45 PM on the same day. This repatriation follows a previous return of Nigerians from South Africa, which was also facilitated by the intervention of public-spirited private individuals.
