Senate President Akpabio Promotes Unity for Nigeria's Future

At an inter-denominational church service held at the National Christian Centre in Abuja to commemorate Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, assured citizens that Nigeria would overcome its current challenges and become a peaceful and prosperous nation. In his speech titled “Keeping Faith with Nigeria,” Akpabio urged Nigerians to reject tribalism, bitterness, and religious conflict, emphasizing the need for unity and collective commitment.

He called on the present generation to leave a better country for future generations and to confront national challenges with courage. Akpabio drew inspiration from the biblical Prophet Zechariah, urging citizens to reflect on their responsibilities towards building a better society.

He highlighted the importance of patriotism measured by service to fellow citizens and noted Nigeria's political history, including the restoration of constitutional government in 1999 and the significance of uninterrupted civilian rule. Akpabio expressed confidence that Nigeria could overcome its difficulties and achieve a peaceful future.
