70% of New Lagos Businesses Founded by Youths, Says Sanwo-Olu

During a dialogue in Abuja, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu revealed that youths account for 70% of new businesses in Lagos State, significantly contributing an estimated 4.5 trillion Naira to the state's annual GDP. This disclosure was made at an event organized in collaboration with the Vice President, focusing on youth leadership and infrastructure development.

Sanwo-Olu highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between federal and state governments to build human capital and establish a national infrastructure fund for roads and bridges. He also mentioned the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, which aims to enhance leadership capacity among young Nigerians through structured training and mentorship.

Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Hassan Hadejia, stressed the importance of institutional responsibility in youth development, advocating for equipping young people to navigate the complexities of leadership. The event served as a precursor to the Lagos Leadership Summit, aiming to align stakeholders in empowering young leaders for national transformation.
