Brighton Fan Dies After Aston Villa Match Departure

A 72-year-old supporter of Brighton & Hove Albion passed away after experiencing a medical emergency while leaving the stadium following the club's match against Aston Villa. The incident occurred as he was heading to a supporters’ club bus in the coach park.

Emergency services, including paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service, St John Ambulance, Sussex Police, MB Medical Solutions, the club’s crowd doctor, and stewards, responded promptly. Despite receiving prolonged CPR at the scene, the medical team was unable to save him.

Paul Barber, the chief executive and deputy chairman of Brighton & Hove Albion, expressed the club's shock and sadness over the incident, stating that what should have been a routine journey home ended in tragic circumstances. The club extended its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased supporter and paid tribute to the emergency responders who provided care during the incident.
