Kogi State Investigates Family Deaths Linked to Amala

The Kogi State Government has initiated an investigation into the deaths of four family members in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, following their consumption of amala. The state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, announced this on Saturday, stating that Governor Ahmed Ododo has directed the Commissioner for Health to conduct a thorough investigation.

The inquiry will examine the possibility of food poisoning or contamination as the cause of death, and it will also consider other medical or environmental factors. Additionally, the investigation will include the death of the family's dog, which consumed the same food.

Fanwo urged the public to remain calm and refrain from drawing conclusions until the investigation is complete. He expressed condolences to the bereaved family and the community, assuring that the government would provide further information once verified facts emerge.
