FG Suspends Three Permanent Secretaries Over Fake Agency

President Bola Tinubu has ordered the suspension of three permanent secretaries—M.S. Danjuma, Nadungu Gagare, and Richard P.

Pheelangwah—following the discovery of a fake agency, the "National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office," operating illegally within the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), led by Dr. Musa Aliyu, revealed that the agency was promoted by George Buchi Nwabueze, who was found to be using multiple aliases.

The ICPC's investigation, which was directed by the President, uncovered that the fake office had been allocated space without presidential authorization. The President has directed the immediate arrest of Nwabueze and the suspension of the aforementioned permanent secretaries.

This incident follows a broader investigation that previously uncovered other fictitious agencies, including the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, which is currently under prosecution for forgery and impersonation.
