Fubara Unveils 105-Bed Hospital in Rivers State

On Friday, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara unveiled a remodelled and fully furnished 105-bed Zonal Hospital in Omoku, located in the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area. Fubara emphasized his administration's commitment to quality healthcare delivery, stating that lost health is harder to regain than lost wealth.

He articulated that healthcare is a fundamental responsibility of the government, alongside protecting lives and providing essential services. The new hospital is intended to serve not only Omoku but also the surrounding communities of Egbema and Ndoni, and is positioned as a strategic healthcare facility for the wider Rivers West Senatorial District.

Fubara appealed to residents and community leaders to protect the facility from vandalism and theft, noting its importance given Omoku's status as the oil and gas hub of the state. The Oba of Ogbaland, Dr Nwachukwu Obi III, who commissioned the facility, praised the governor for his tangible development projects in the area.
