Simon Shango Celebrates 80th Birthday with Autobiography Launch

On Saturday, during a double-barreled occasion in Abuja, Simon Shango celebrated his 80th birthday alongside the public presentation of his autobiography. The event was hosted by Senator George Akum, who is the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Notable attendees included former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom and Dr. Bongo Ikwu, who entertained the audience with a musical performance.

The book, titled "Thoughts of a Servant," was reviewed by Dr. Haroun Adamu, who acknowledged Shango's significant impact on Nigerian journalism.

Shango, affectionately known as "Shangoji," shared anecdotes from his life, including a humorous story from his childhood in Ikirun, Osun State, where he faced accusations of theft.
