800 Young Footballers Join ABT Scouting Programme in Kaduna

The ABT Football Academy Scouting Programme, taking place in Kwoi, Kaduna State, has attracted over 800 young footballers from 15 academies, marking a significant grassroots initiative that commenced on Monday and is set to conclude on Saturday. Alhamdu Bala, Chairman of ABT Football Academy, expressed his satisfaction with the turnout, emphasizing the program's importance for young footballers in Southern Kaduna.

He acknowledged the support of Argentine International Scout Marcelo Houseman, who has identified more than 10 promising talents during the scouting exercise. Houseman stated that some of these players are eligible for the U-17 and U-20 national teams and plans to discuss their potential with National U-17 Coach Manu Garba.

Houseman highlighted the abundance of undiscovered football talent in Nigeria and Africa, noting his previous successes in scouting, including notable players like Odion Ighalo and Shabani Nonda. The program aims to create opportunities for talented youngsters lacking access to established football development structures.
