983 Candidates Fail May 2026 Bar Final Resit Examination
The Council of Legal Education revealed that 983 candidates failed the May 2026 Bar Final (Resit) Examination, accounting for 54.7% of the total 1,955 candidates who participated. The results were disclosed in a public notice signed by Aderonke O.
Osho, the Secretary and Director of Administration, and shared on Monday. The council approved the results during its Third Quarter Hybrid Meeting held on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
Out of those who sat for the examination, 885 candidates passed, while 55 received conditional passes. Additionally, 32 candidates were absent, and the results of 19 candidates were withheld.
The overall pass rate for the examination was reported at 45.3%, indicating that a significant majority, 54.7%, did not meet the required pass mark.
