Lagos Speaker Obasa Mourns Nollywood Icon Ogogo

Hon. Mudashir Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, expressed profound sorrow over the death of Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, who passed away on Sunday. He was buried in accordance with Islamic rites on Monday morning.

In a statement released on Monday, Obasa described Ogogo as a towering figure in Nollywood whose artistry embodied discipline, moral strength, and cultural pride. He noted that Ogogo inspired many and helped preserve Yoruba heritage through his storytelling, which resonated across Nigeria and beyond.

Obasa extended condolences on behalf of the Lagos State House of Assembly to Ogogo's family and friends, emphasizing that the actor's humility, professionalism, and dedication made him a role model with an influence that extended far beyond the screen. He stated that Ogogo's death is a significant loss not only to his family and admirers but to the entire creative industry and the Nigerian nation.
