Minister Musawa Mourns Veteran Actor Taiwo Hassan 'Ogogo'

Hannatu Musa Musawa, Esq., the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, expressed profound sorrow over the death of Chief Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as “Ogogo.” In a statement released on Monday, signed by her Special Assistant on Media & Publicity, Dr. Nneka Ikem Anibeze, Musawa acknowledged Chief Hassan as a significant figure in the Nigerian film industry. She highlighted his discipline, talent, and dedication, which played a crucial role in shaping Nollywood and inspiring many actors, directors, and producers.

Musawa described Ogogo as a custodian of culture and a proud voice of Yoruba storytelling, emphasizing his lifelong commitment to the Nigerian creative industry. She noted that his works celebrated heritage and showcased the richness of traditions.

The Minister extended condolences on behalf of the Ministry, the creative community, and stakeholders in the arts and culture sector to Chief Hassan's family, colleagues in Nollywood, fans, and the people of Ogun State, praying for strength for his family and the film industry.
