Legendary Singer Peabo Bryson Passes Away at 75

Peabo Bryson, a renowned singer celebrated for his breathtaking voice and contributions to Disney classics such as "A Whole New World" and "Beauty and the Beast," passed away at the age of 75 on Tuesday. His family confirmed that he died surrounded by loved ones.

Bryson's remarkable career spanned five decades, captivating audiences with his soulful R&B and pop ballads. He earned affection for his titles, including "Voice of Love" and "Heartbreak," and his music provided comfort to many.

Notably, his duet "A Whole New World" with Regina Belle and "Beauty and the Beast" with Celine Dion earned him Grammy Awards, solidifying his status as a beloved vocalist. Born Robert Peapo Bryson on April 13, 1951, in Greenville, South Carolina, he spent his childhood on his grandfather's farm in Mauldin, South Carolina.

Bryson's final major concert was the Golden Touch Tour, where he performed at the Theatre Solair in Manila, Philippines, on March 8, 2026, and gave his last U.S. performance alongside Jeffery Osborne in Fayetteville, Georgia, in early May 2026.
