Action Alliance Condemns Attack on Presidential Candidate

The Action Alliance (AA) in Zamfara State condemned an attack on its presidential candidate, Adekunle Rufai Omoaj, which occurred during a burial ceremony on Saturday. Alhaji Shehu Hussaini Waziri, the Zamfara State chairman of the AA, issued a statement on Sunday, labeling the attack a cowardly act and a direct assault on democracy.

He emphasized that such actions aim to intimidate opposition political parties and deny them their mandate for the 2027 presidential elections. The party reaffirmed its commitment to justice, peace, and coexistence in Nigeria, despite facing undemocratic attitudes from unpatriotic individuals.

Waziri called on security agencies to investigate the incident and ensure the safety of all citizens, asserting that their safety remains sacrosanct. The statement concluded with a call for calm and adherence to the law to promote peace and progress in the state and the country at large.
