APC Campaign DG and Members Attacked in Wakama Ward

In Wakama Ward, an attack was reported involving the Director General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign and 12 members, allegedly carried out by suspected ethnic militia loyal to Labour Party candidate Labaran Maku. The assailants used arms, machetes, and axes, inflicting serious injuries on the victims.

Among the injured, Ezekiel Baba was declared missing following the attack, which has heightened fears regarding safety in the area. Two victims are currently receiving treatment for severe wounds.

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) responded swiftly, rescuing the injured and taking them to the hospital. Sources indicate that the NSCDC apprehended a suspect identified as Peter Assi, a former councillor in Wakama Ward with political ties to Labaran Maku.

Security agencies have been urged to investigate the incident thoroughly and ensure adequate security for voters during the ongoing Nasarawa North senatorial bye-election. The APC condemned the violence, labeling it a dangerous act that could undermine the electoral process.
