Abuja Corps Member Eunic Ameh Regains Freedom After Abduction

Eunic Ameh, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), was abducted on May 6, 2026, in the Maitama area of Abuja shortly after leaving work. Her disappearance triggered widespread concern among the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the public, prompting urgent calls for action from security agencies.

Festu Ogun, a human rights lawyer, confirmed her release on Sunday, stating that it was achieved after financial demands were met. Ameh was reported to have been last seen at 5:40 PM on the day of her abduction as she headed home from work.

She had recently started working at Blade Butcher Ltd. and was preparing to complete her NYSC assignment. The NBA President, Afam Osigwe, expressed deep concern over the incident, highlighting the collective responsibility of the legal profession to support one another in times of crisis.
