Abuja Police Confirm Release of Missing NYSC Member

Linda Ameh, a legal practitioner and member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), was reported missing on May 6, 2026, after she disappeared in the Maitama area of Abuja. Following her abduction, she was found and reported to have regained her freedom, with the police confirming her status.

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command disclosed that Ameh was located at the Maitama police station, where she is currently assisting in the investigation to track down those responsible for her abduction. The incident sparked significant concern within the Nigerian Bar Association, with its president, Afam Osigwe, describing the situation as deeply troubling.

Osigwe emphasized the collective duty of the legal profession to stand against such crimes. Ameh had recently begun working at Blade Butcher Ltd, located on Lake Chad Crescent in Maitama, and was last seen around 5:40 PM on the day of her disappearance.
