Kaduna Woman Returns Pregnant After 5-Month Abduction

A woman who was abducted in the Kasuwan Magani area of Kaduna State has returned home five months later, pregnant. The victim was among four individuals kidnapped by armed men while caring for her seriously ill mother.

Reports indicate that a ransom was paid for her release two days prior to her return. Upon regaining her freedom, she was taken to a hospital where doctors confirmed her pregnancy and noted her weak condition, requiring urgent medical care including blood transfusions.

The ordeal included severe physical hardships, such as prolonged treks without footwear, which left her feet swollen and painful. Reuben Buhari, a former media aide to the late Kaduna State Governor Patrick Yakowa, shared the victim's story on Facebook, emphasizing the trauma faced by women in such captivity and drawing attention to the growing security concerns in Kaduna State regarding the plight of kidnapping victims.
