Woman Returns Pregnant After Abduction in Kaduna State

A woman who was abducted in Kasuwan Magani, Kaduna State, alongside three others, has returned home pregnant after a harrowing five-month ordeal. Reuben Buhari disclosed details surrounding her abduction and release, noting that she was taken while attending to her seriously ill mother.

The victim endured significant hardship, battling hunger and physical abuse while held captive in the bush. Following her release, she was taken to a medical facility where it was discovered that she was pregnant, attributed to repeated assaults during her captivity.

Doctors advised against terminating the pregnancy due to her weak state, requiring stabilization first. Additionally, she faced severe health complications, including swollen feet and the need for blood transfusions.

Buhari emphasized the profound psychological and emotional trauma she experienced, reflecting on the distressing realities faced by female kidnapping victims. This incident follows a recent report of bandits killing two women among 14 abducted in the Janjala community, highlighting ongoing security challenges in the region.
