Pregnant Woman and Nursing Mother Abducted in Kaduna

In a distressing incident in Kaduna State, a pregnant woman, Jamila Alhaji Ado, and a nursing mother were abducted by bandits during an attack on their home in the Sabon Gero community, Chikun Local Government Area, around 12 AM on Sunday. The assailants stormed the household, causing panic among residents, and forcibly took the victims into the bush after making them trek for hours.

Jamila recounted that the abductors threatened them and left behind those who could not keep up. The attack also resulted in the death of a vigilante member, Abdulrahman Lawal, who was shot while trying to defend the community.

His son, Muhammadu Lawal, sustained gunshot injuries and was hospitalized. The local vigilante leader, Aliyu Muktar, confirmed the incident, stating that the attackers had previously demanded ransom three weeks prior.

The families of the abducted individuals are appealing for help in securing their release.
