Kogi State Government Launches Rescue for Abducted NECO Candidates

On Tuesday, during an ongoing NECO examination, five candidates were abducted from Olowa Secondary School in Dekina Local Government Area, Kogi State. The Kogi State Government, led by Governor Usman Ododo, has initiated a large-scale multi-agency security operation to rescue the remaining four victims.

The operation involves the Nigerian Army's 12 Brigade and 21 Battalion, the Nigerian Police Force, and local security outfits. Kogi State Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, stated that the examination center was located in a remote area and was not compliant with established security frameworks.

The abducted candidates included two females who were not regular students of the school. The government has committed to ensuring the safe rescue of the victims and has urged the surrounding community to cooperate with security personnel.
