Bandits Abduct Principal, NECO Supervisor, Students in Kogi

On Tuesday, around 2 PM, armed assailants invaded a school in Kogi State, abducting the principal, Mr. Nyada Daniel, a NECO supervisor, Mr.

Solomon Audu, and four students during an examination. Residents reported that the gunmen initially retreated but returned to shoot indiscriminately, causing panic and forcing people to flee.

After the attack, examination papers were found scattered across classrooms, and no school officials were present. Families of the abducted individuals received ransom demands from the kidnappers.

Local security forces, including soldiers, police officers, and vigilante hunters, mobilized to track the assailants and rescue the victims. The Kogi State Police Command, led by CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, initiated a search and rescue operation.

This incident has raised concerns about the worsening security situation in the area, which has seen previous violent incidents, including the killing of farmers.
