Kogi State Launches Operation to Rescue Abducted School Officials

Kogi State has launched a multi-agency security operation to rescue four individuals who were abducted from Government Secondary School Olowa in Dekina Local Government Area during the ongoing NECO examinations. The victims include Daniel Iyanaa, the principal of the school, Solomon Audu, a NECO official, and two female candidates, one identified as Dorca Sundai.

The operation is coordinated by Governor Ahm Usman Ododo and involves the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Kogi State Vigilante Service, and local hunters. A statement issued by Kingsley Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information, confirmed that five individuals were initially abducted, and efforts are ongoing to secure the release of the remaining four.

The government has deployed advanced technology to support the operation and has urged residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information. The Kogi State government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property and ensuring the safe rescue of the victims.
