Kwara Governor Pledges N20M for Fallen Soldiers' Families

On Tuesday, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq announced a pledge of N20 million to support the families of three soldiers who were killed in a terrorist attack in the Kaiama local government area. Additionally, he committed N5 million for six officers who were injured during the operation.

This announcement was made during his visit to the injured soldiers at the Intensive Care Unit of the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital in Ilorin. The attack occurred around 3:00 AM on Monday, reportedly beginning with the detonation of explosive devices at a military camp in Kemanji, causing significant damage.

The governor expressed his condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers, commending their sacrifice for the nation. He emphasized the importance of the security personnel's efforts in repelling the terrorist attack, which prevented further access to the community and potential kidnappings.

The situation in the area remains tense, with calls for urgent action to address growing insecurity.
