Kwara Governor Urges Residents to Protect Troop Movements

Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq addressed the public on Tuesday, urging residents to stop disclosing sensitive information regarding troop movements, which he stated could aid bandits and endanger the lives of security personnel. This warning followed an incident last Thursday in which at least five residents and three soldiers were killed during an attack by suspected bandits in Mari Dina Community, Patigi Local Government Area.

Several women and children were also abducted during the raid. During his visit to the injured soldiers at a medical facility in Ilorin, Governor Abdulrazaq announced a donation of N60 million to the families of the three soldiers killed and N5 million to the three injured personnel as immediate support pending formal compensation from the Ministry of Defence.

He emphasized the daily risks faced by security personnel and called on citizens to support security agencies with information to avoid compromising operations.
