Abia APC Releases Separate Candidate List for 2027 Elections

The Abia chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has defied the directives from the APC National Headquarters by releasing its own list of candidates for the 2027 general elections. This announcement was made by the party's spokesman, Uch Aguoru, on Wednesday.

The list includes Uchenna Erondu as the party's senatorial candidate for Abia South, despite the national headquarters replacing him with Paul Ikonn. The state chapter also recognized Chris Nkwonta and Samuel Okezi for the senatorial candidacy in Abia East and Abia West, respectively.

The Abia APC retained Erondu and Nkwonta in its candidate list, while Eric Oprah was recognized as the governorship candidate for the 2027 elections. The party expressed gratitude to Prof.

Nentaw Yilwatda, the national chairman, and the National Working Committee (NWC) for conducting transparent and credible primaries, ensuring equal opportunities for all aspirants.
