Abia APC Releases Separate Candidate List for 2027 Elections

The Abia chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a separate list of candidates for the 2027 general elections, defying the directives from the party's national headquarters. This list was made public through a statement signed by Uch Aguoru, the state chapter's public secretary.

The Abia APC congratulated the winners of the party's governorship and national assembly primaries, which were conducted by the National Working Committee (NWC). The list includes Uchenna Erondu and Chris Nkwonta as candidates for the senatorial seats in Abia South and other constituencies.

The chapter has retained Erondu and Nkwonta in its list while recognizing Eric Oprah as the governorship candidate. The Abia APC expressed gratitude to Prof.

Nentaw Yilwatda, the national chairman, for overseeing a transparent primary election process. However, the release of this separate list has created uncertainty regarding the nominations, particularly for the Abia South senatorial seat and the Ukwa East and Ukwa West House of Representatives constituencies.
