Abia APC Candidate Calls for Justice in Nursing Student's Murder

Eric Opah, the Abia APC governorship candidate for the 2027 elections, expressed deep sorrow over the murder of Wendi Achumba, a nursing student from Obingwa Local Government Area in Abia State. Achumba was reportedly killed off-campus in Obowo, Imo State.

Opah described the incident as a painful tragedy that affects not only the family but society at large. He urged the Nigeria Police Force to ensure justice is served and commended their efforts in arresting two suspects, Onyema Okonkwo and Emmanuel Onyekachi, who allegedly confessed to the crime in a viral video.

Opah also called on students to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement. The traditional ruler of Umuadara Umulogho, Patrick Uwalaka, publicly condemned the killing and distanced the community from the crime, emphasizing the need for justice for Achumba.
