Monarch Urges Restraint After Nursing Student's Murder

Ez Paulson Nwankwo, the traditional ruler of the Anunu Ukwu ancient kingdom in Obingwa Local Government Area, Abia State, called for restraint among the youth following the murder of Wendi Achumba, a final year nursing student from Umulogho, Obowo Local Government Area, Imo State. Nwankwo made this appeal during a radio program on Friday, warning that acts of revenge could exacerbate the situation.

Achumba was reportedly murdered in Umudara Village on May 21. Two suspects have already been arrested by the police in connection with the murder.

Nwankwo described Achumba's death as unfortunate and urged the community to provide credible information to law enforcement to help apprehend the perpetrators. Imo State Police Public Relations Officer Henri Okoy confirmed that investigations are ongoing, with the first suspect arrested through community efforts and a second suspect identified during interrogations.

Forensic experts recovered blood-stained items from the crime scene, and the Commissioner of Police, Audu Garba Bosso, has directed a thorough investigation.
