Abia State Rescues Child from Alleged Parental Abuse

The Abia State Government has intervened in the case of 12-year-old Master Ugonna Uzoma, who was rescued from his father, Mr. Lambert Uzoma, following allegations of severe abuse. Reports indicate that the father tied the child's hands and legs, inflicted injuries, poured frozen water on him, and abandoned him in the sun.

The Abia State Ministry of Women Affairs confirmed the rescue on Friday, expressing dismay over the abuse. Commissioner for Women Affairs, Maureen Ahukwa, stated that Master Uzoma would be taken to the hospital for necessary medical attention.

She assured the public that the matter is under police investigation and emphasized that the suspect would face legal consequences. Ahukwa also encouraged the public to report similar cases to the state government for prompt action.

The child has sustained serious bruises due to the alleged torture by his father.
