Abia Police Rescue Kidnap Victim, Apprehend Suspect

The Abia State Police Command conducted a successful operation to rescue a kidnap victim, Onyebuchi Nwaoha, aged 46, who had been abducted. The operation took place in Ogwashi Forest, where the suspect, Ibrahim Audu, a 42-year-old male, was hiding.

During the confrontation, Audu was unable to withstand the superior firepower of the police officers and fled the scene but was later apprehended. The police recovered a ransom of N830,000 that had been collected from the victim's family.

The police spokesperson, DSP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the successful rescue and stated that investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang. The Commissioner of Police in Abia State, CP Danladi Isa, reiterated the command's commitment to ensuring the protection of lives and property and emphasized the importance of public cooperation in crime prevention.
